David Camacho headed to IMMAF Pan American tournament

Bantamweight fighter, David Camacho (4-2), is on his way to represent the United States in the IMMAF Pan American Championships on June 22.

IMMAF is one of the biggest bodies in MMA and gives amateur fighters the opportunity to compete internationally against each other. IMMAF has hosted fighters like UFC prospect, Muhammad Mokaev and south Florida fan-favorite, Ryan Kuse.

Camacho, 24, will be returning to IMMAF competition for the second time in his amateur career. The "Bogota Bruiser" suffered his first career loss in his first run with the federation, dropping a split decision to Daniele Caldarera, the 7th ranked featherweight in Italy by Tapology.

However, Camacho notes the difference from his appearance to his upcoming attempt, saying "Thankfully, this time we have [John Wai] going as a coach. Last time in Abu Dhabi I didn't have anyone in my team go. So have a coach... that's going to be a huge factor for me."

Camacho, coming off losing a bantamweight title fight at Combat Night, where he nearly submitted Yancarlos Guerra said the tournament is a great chance to redeem himself.

The XFN bantamweight champion's venture to Mexico saw XFN schedule a title fight between Kyle Hammel and Marquis King on June 25. Camacho plans to fight for XFN's bantamweight belt once he comes back from Mexico. Aiming for an August 27 return he said "You guys know I'm still the champ. We've decided that I'm going to fight whoever wins that interim fight."

Camacho called both fighters savages and said he is picking Hammel to win that fight.

Camacho is one of ten American fighters, being the only one representing Florida on the team. More info on the tournament can be found on IMMAF's website.
