'Xtreme' Muay Thai coming to Florida with XFN

WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- The amateur scene is always looking for new ways to innovate and excel to prepare fighters for their professional careers. One of the most exciting additions has been announced recently with XFN introducing 'Xtreme' Muay Thai to debut on June 25 at XFN 44.

Xtreme Muay Thai is still the same ruleset as your typical Muay Thai bout but with four ounce MMA gloves. XFN is bringing what is considered a modified MMA match to the Florida amateur scene for the first time ever.

The promotion set up two prolific strikers in Kevin Morales (6-1) and Danny Perez (3-0) for the first title fight under this ruleset.

Morales is staying active coming off a successful defense of his lightweight Muay Thai belt vs. Dysanley Estiverne at Combat Night.

Perez is stepping into the cage after a ten second highlight knockout in his February MMA bout vs. Justin Lancaster.

Perez was initially rumored to be matched up against JC SanJuan for the card, but that fight fell through and no MMA opponents could be found for Perez.

Morales was rumored to be fighting Daniel McElroy originally, but no replacements for McElroy could be found either.

Although Morales v. Perez will be the first title fight for Xtreme Muay Thai, it will not actually be the first fight in Florida with that rule set.

Chris Kidwell will be matched up against Sebastian Fernandez, who challenged Kenny Castro for XFN's welterweight kickboxing belt in March.

Kidwell is coming off an April win over Lucas dos Santos while Fernandez is coming off a May loss, also facing dos Santos.

XFN 44 will take place June 25 at Renegades Country Bar and Grill. Tickets and streaming info can be found on their website.
